Thefolksinger is the name, on YouTube and at WordPress, of Bill Evenhouse. Now living with his wife, Nelle, in Cairo, Egypt, Bill has recently retired from his post as an Affiliate Professor of  Music in The Department of Art, The American University in Cairo.  Over previous years, he has been a teacher of English, an author, a linguist,  in Nigeria and the United States as well as Egypt. At present Bill continues to compose music and sing original songs and folksongs from America as well as other parts of the world.

He also intends to return to writing commentaries on issues that interest him, and that may interest others. Look for new blogsstar appear as early as late September, 2012.
